The Power of Vision: How to Build Your Agency's Future with Strategic Focus
Do you know where you want your agency to be? Let me paint a picture of my future. I’m a New York Times best-selling author and a Hall of Fame keynote speaker. I’m known for our Four Pillars of Top Performance and am being booked on stages across the world to talk about these principles. I’m renowned for InsuraRisk University and for helping agents become top performers, revolutionizing the insurance industry. I now help businesses implement these four pillars into their life and operations. This is a projection of my future.
Do you know the future of your agency? Do you have a picture of what that looks like? Not just imagining it—do you know what it feels like? Are you viewing it in first person? Too often, people view their future from a third-person perspective, as if they’re looking at someone else’s life. Instead, imagine living it in first person, because when you visualize your future, your mind starts to manifest it.
When I meet with my clients, I love that initial coaching call. We talk about their goals, what they want to accomplish, and what their best life looks like. It’s different for every person because it's their internal values that motivate them to live the life they desire. I love helping them obtain that future they want to create.
When creating a vision for your agency, it needs to be backed by strategic plans. You need focus and direction to stay on the straight path and achieve your goals. Religious scholar N Eldon Tanner once said, “It is so evident that those who keep on the straight and narrow path leading to their goal it guarantees victory. Which is gained by setting a goal and being able to concentrate and follow an undeviating course.”
When you have direct focus—our fourth pillar—you have a direction to follow. Once you have a vision for your five-year goal, break it down: each year, month, week, and day. Furthermore, how do you time-block each day to accomplish your priorities? One thing we do with our clients is an audit of their day, broken into 15-minute increments. We realign it to ensure that their priorities are blocked off and that they focus on specific time periods.
When you put time with focus, magic happens. Let me give you an example. When I wake up late and realize I have five minutes to be somewhere, I can shower, change, brush my teeth, and be out the door in five minutes. But when I don’t have to be anywhere, that same process can take 30-40 minutes. When you have a time commitment, magic happens—just like that same experience of getting dressed in the morning. When you’re time-crunched, you can accomplish a lot more in that same period. Time-blocking your day helps you toward your vision because you know what needs to be accomplished and what actions to take daily.
If you’re struggling with setting goals for your future and creating strategic plans to get there, I’d love to connect with you for a coaching call. Let’s dive into what your best future looks like and create a road map to build that dream agency.
